This is the most important day for the Californian Brotherhood. Once Jesus’ judgement and Pontius Pilates’ hand-washing are performed in the evening, they will show all the richness of their patrimony at night along the streets of the city. It is very difficult to explain and narrate how colourful and baroque the Californian brothers are in the Solemn procession of the Holy Christ of Prendimiento. They show order, light, flowers, and music which make this an amazing procession. The Californian images show all the beauty of the work of Mariano Benlliure. The Last Supper, with the Eucharist setting up, Jesus loneliness in the Orchard pray, Judas’ treacherous kiss and Jesus later caching will give way to Jesus judgement, accompanied by the three Apostles which follow him (Saint James, Saint Peter and Saint John). The Holy Virgin of the Pain, Mother of the Californian Brotherhood, fills with joy the heart of Cartagena and gives rise to tokens of love and devotion.
